The phenomenon of bouncing back of light rays in the same medium on striking the smooth surface is known as reflection of light.
There are two laws of reflection :
1) Angle of incidence is always equal to angle of reflection , i.e., ∠i=∠r.
2) The incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal at the point of incidence, all lie in the same plane.
