How dead is it and what are you charging it with?
Direct to a wall will speed up the process. Much faster if it’s only slightly used.
From Dead to fully charged can take 1.5–2.5 hours. Longer if it’s plugged into a USB source that’s a low charged output.
I use a controller dock that has places for two controllers, so I usually let one die, and then switch to the other one so the battery lasts longer.
