Valency:-
Valency is defined as combining power of an element with other atom to form chemical bond.
Valency refers to electron in outer shell of an atom.
Example, Na(2,8,1) Valency of Na is 1
Cl(2,8,7) Valency of Cl is 1. Chlorine is short of one electron to complete its octet.
