Adonis is a name of the Roman and Greek mythology. He was the God of beauty, desire and vegetation and a lover of the Greek goddess Aphrodite and the Roman goddess Venus. Adonis was a handsome young shepherd killed by Ares or Mars and his blood became to the anemone flower.
